Description

A delicious candy made with butter, sugar, and chocolate, perfect for holiday gifting or as a festive treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (like almonds or pecans)

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Stir in the sugar, corn syrup, and salt. Cook, stirring constantly until the mixture reaches a deep golden color (about 300°F to 310°F on a candy thermometer).
  4. Remove from heat and mix in the vanilla extract.
  5. Immediately pour the hot mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and spread it evenly.
  6. Let the toffee cool for a few minutes, then sprinkle the chocolate chips on top.
  7. Once the chocolate has melted, spread it evenly over the toffee.
  8. Sprinkle the chopped nuts on top of the chocolate.
  9. Allow it to cool completely before breaking into pieces.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 2 to 3 weeks. Refrigerate in warm climates to prevent melting.
