- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts (like almonds or pecans)
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Stir in the sugar, corn syrup, and salt. Cook, stirring constantly until the mixture reaches a deep golden color (about 300°F to 310°F on a candy thermometer).
- Remove from heat and mix in the vanilla extract.
- Immediately pour the hot mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and spread it evenly.
- Let the toffee cool for a few minutes, then sprinkle the chocolate chips on top.
- Once the chocolate has melted, spread it evenly over the toffee.
- Sprinkle the chopped nuts on top of the chocolate.
- Allow it to cool completely before breaking into pieces.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 2 to 3 weeks. Refrigerate in warm climates to prevent melting.
