- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups bow tie pasta
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh basil, for garnish
Instructions
- In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until the onion is translucent.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, beef broth, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil.
- Add bow tie pasta and reduce heat. Simmer until pasta is tender.
- Stir in ricotta cheese until well mixed.
- Serve hot, sprinkling with shredded mozzarella and fresh basil on top.
Notes
For extra flavor, add chopped bell peppers or mushrooms when cooking the onions and garlic. For a creamier soup, stir in heavy cream or more ricotta before serving.
