Ingredients
Scale
For the Steak Bites:
- 1 lb steak (ribeye, sirloin, or filet mignon), cut into bite-sized cubes
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil (or butter) for cooking
For the Garlic Butter Sauce:
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1–2 tsp fresh thyme or rosemary (optional)
For the Parmesan Cream Sauce:
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1–2 tbsp unsalted butter (optional, for extra creaminess)
Instructions
- Prepare the Steak Bites:
- Cut your steak into 1 to 1.5-inch cubes and season generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat 2 tbsp of olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook the Steak Bites:
- Add the steak cubes to the hot skillet, cooking in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
- Sear for 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until the steak is browned on the outside and cooked to your desired level of doneness.
- Remove the steak bites from the skillet and set aside.
- Make the Garlic Butter Sauce:
- In the same skillet, melt 4 tbsp of butter over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the thyme or rosemary if using.
- Stir to combine and cook for an additional minute.
- Make the Parmesan Cream Sauce:
- In a separate saucepan, heat 1 cup of heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer.
- Gradually whisk in ½ cup of freshly grated Parmesan cheese, stirring until smooth and thickened.
- Add salt and pepper to taste. For extra creaminess, stir in 1-2 tbsp of butter.
- Combine the Steak Bites and Cream Sauce:
- Return the steak bites to the skillet with the garlic butter.
- Pour the Parmesan cream sauce over the steak, stirring gently to coat the steak bites with the creamy sauce.
- Allow it to simmer for a few minutes so the sauce thickens and everything combines beautifully.
- Serve:
- Serve the garlic butter steak bites with your favorite side dishes like mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a simple salad.
- Garnish with extra grated Parmesan and fresh herbs, if desired.
Notes
- For a spicy kick, add red pepper flakes to the garlic butter sauce.
- You can substitute Parmesan with Romano or Gruyère cheese for a different flavor.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat gently with a little extra cream to keep the sauce creamy.
