- 2 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 Cup milk

Instructions
Cook the Fries:
-
Prepare the frozen French fries according to the package instructions — bake, air fry, or deep fry until crispy.
-
Once cooked, sprinkle the fries with the Cajun seasoning and toss to coat evenly. Set aside.
Make the Cheese Sauce:
-
Make the sauce while the fries are cooking. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over a medium heat.
-
Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 to 2 minutes until the flour mixture (roux) turns golden and bubbly.
-
Slowly whisk in the milk, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
-
Cook until the mixture thickens, 3 to 5 minutes.
-
Stir in the shredded cheddar and pepper jack cheeses, stirring until melted and smooth.
-
For extra heat, sprinkle in a bit of chili powder, if liked.
-
Remove from the heat.
Assemble the Dish:
-
Transfer the seasoned fries onto a warmed serving platter.
-
Drizzle the warm cheese sauce generously over them.
-
Drizzle the ranch over the cheese sauce or serve on the side for dipping.
-
Serve immediately with your preferred toppings.
